*** The Boil Water Advisory issued on Thursday, April 8, 2021 for Atlantic Beach residences that were affected by the water outage in the area of Lee Drive westward to the Town limits, has been lifted effective Saturday, April 10, 12:30 p.m. Thank you all for your patience and cooperation. ***
For All Property From Lee Drive Westward To The Town Limits
At approximately 5:30 p.m. Thursday, April 8, 2021, a contractor hit and broke a water line causing the water outage.
Periods of low or no pressure in the distribution system increase the potential for back siphonage and the introduction of bacteria into the water system. Therefore, it is advised that when water service is restored, consumers boil all water used for human consumption (including drinking, making ice, brushing teeth, washing dishes, and food preparation) or use bottled water. Vigorous boiling for one (1) minute should kill any disease-causing organisms that may be present in the water.
This advisory remains in effect until further notice. Notice of the advisory being lifted will be posted on the Town’s website (atlanticbeach-nc.com) and Facebook page. Further information can be obtained by calling Town Hall at (252) 726-1366.
