The mission of the Fire Department is to provide protection of life and property to the citizens and visitors of the Town of Atlantic Beach from the adverse effects of fire, medical emergencies and dangerous conditions, either man-made or natural.
Emergency Services activities support the overall effort to maintain the safety and well-being of our citizens and visitors. These activities include fire suppression, emergency medical services, technical rescue, ocean rescue and public safety dive rescue and recovery.
Fire Prevention is a function of our Fire Marshal’s office. The Fire Marshal’s office supports our efforts to create a fire safe community through business and community education, plan review & code enforcement, fire safety inspections and fire investigations.
Fire Safety & EducationMore
Fire Safety & Education activities support our efforts to maintain a safe community. These activities include fire station tours, Fire Prevention Week activities, community education, CPR & first aid classes and fire extinguisher education and training.
During our peak summer season, our lifeguards patrol our main beach strand to provide protection from our strong currents and dangerous surf conditions. Our lifeguards are specially trained in ocean/surf rescue, CPR, and first aid in order to keep our waters and beaches safe for your enjoyment.
Volunteer Firefighters support the Town’s operation and administrative Emergency Services activities. You can help protect and serve our community while receiving professional hands-on training in fire suppression, emergency medical services, and technical rescue.
Beach Wheelchair ProgramMore
Our Beach Wheelchair program is aimed at supporting our goal of ensuring that everyone can enjoy the activities and beauty of our beach-front community.
