Seasonal Ocean Lifeguards: The Town of Atlantic Beach accepts applications in April and May for the summer Ocean Rescue Lifeguard positions. If you are at least 18 years old, possess strong swimming skills, and are looking for an exciting and rewarding summer job, this is it!

Successful candidates will demonstrate strong swimming skills, excellent physical fitness, dependability, responsibility, and the ability to interact with the public. Both full-time seasonal and part-time seasonal positions are available each summer. Beachfront Attendants: Part-time, seasonal positions available from mid-May through Labor Day servicing our beachfront and bathhouses. Mature, reliable, thorough, and self-motivated persons needed. Duties include, but are not limited to, mowing, maintenance and janitorial tasks at beachfront bathhouses and recreation areas. Hours of operation vary, 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. daily, possibly later on weekends. $10.00 an hour, 30-40 hours a week, flexible shifts: days and weekends.

Administrative Assistant: Full time position providing a variety of administrative and record-keeping duties in support of the public works and water departments; prepares and files reports; processes accounting, purchasing and budgetary materials for the department including monthly financial reports and reconciliations; orders supplies and materials; maintains a variety of computer and manual logs of information regarding fuel, vehicle usage, timesheets, work orders; and provides general administrative support to department staff. Work requires strong public contact skills, careful accuracy, strong attendance record, reliability with little supervision. Requires high level of proficiency with Microsoft Office products, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook. Notary Desired. Computer literacy test must be passed for consideration. Prefer graduation from a community college in business administration or related field and considerable experience in administrative support work involving extensive public contact; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Prefer previous experience with governmental, construction, or development issues. Must be able to work nights, weekends if called in upon disaster to serve the citizens needs of Atlantic Beach. Must pass a pre-employment drug screening, and satisfactorily pass a background and credit check. Hiring range $32,258 – 40,323.
