POLICE OFFICER
Full-time position with excellent benefits package including medical, dental, vision, paid holidays, sick, vacation, 401K, State Retirement, and assigned take-home vehicle within 44-mile radius. NC BLET certification required; Associates degree or higher preferred but not required. Starting Salary Range: $54,000 – $60,000. Higher starting salary based upon experience and General, Intermediate, and Advanced Certifications. Qualified applicants should complete the employment application online. FIREFIGHTER/PARAMEDIC (Part Time / PRN) – $26.66/hr
Part time position with duties to include responding to emergency calls for fire suppression, providing basic and advanced life support within emergency medical services, driving, operating, and maintaining fire apparatus and other equipment as required, responding and participating in remediation activities of chemical spills, hazardous materials, and other related incidents, responding to ocean/surf rescue incidents, operating watercraft and water rescue equipment, responding to technical rescue incidents including high angle, confined space, vehicle extrication and other technical rescue calls. Position requires knowledge of the principles and techniques of emergency medical care, automobile extrication, emergency transportation, fire suppression methods and techniques, proper handling of hazardous materials, technical rescue and water rescue.
Applicants must possess a valid, unrestricted NC Class B driver’s license, high school diploma or GED, NC Firefighter II Certification, NC Paramedic Certification or eligibility for reciprocity, strong swimming skills and ability to pass swim test. Applicants must have the ability to obtain NC Driver/Operator – Pumps and NC Technical Rescuer certifications within one year of hire. Applicants must be able to obtain NFPA 1582 required physical clearance. Background/Drug screening required.
